Spoilt............again

Mr GREAT has done it again! Arrived home from work last night to this present. I had mentioned a few days before that my cutting mat was looking a little sad. So off he went to Spotlight and made a few purchases.

I was already spoilt with Valentines Day (some bling and roses) and with a weekend away.

A girl could get very used to this..............

Meet Polly...................

When I was having a bit of a tidy out of the craft desk I came across an undressed dolly. Well of course that is never a good thing so I set about making her beautiful.

I have called her Polly - after all what else do you call someone that wears beautiful teapots and teacups with such style?

A "just because" present

When I arrived home from work yesterday I found that Mr GREAT had brought me a "just because" present

Not only was there this beautiful bunch of flowers but also a new chain for the necklace he brought for Valentines last year. Mr GREAT was very specific in telling me that this wasnt an early Valentine's present or for any other reason but "just because".

I love this man :)

How Spoilt Am I?

Remember the other day when I had a stitching day with my friend Deb? Well she presented me with this beautiful quilt.

Deb had first started making this quilt not quite 2 years ago for my birthday present but like the rest of us life got in the way so on the day of my birthday that year I got to pick the border fabric. I was only presented with small pieces of the fabric that she had been using and I had no idea of the quilt design.

Anyway after a couple of very tough years (illness wise) Deb was so pleased that she could give this to me before my next birthday (March). I am honoured by the love that has gone into this and cant wait for it to get cold so I can snuggle with it.

I said I wouldnt.............

but I never listen to myself and I did debate it for a few days.

The "it" is starting a new project (yes I have some to finish off)- and the crunch came when I am spending the best part of tomorrow with a friend stitching and all my "to finish" projects require the sewing machine. So I really need some stitching to take along with me.

When I was having a bit of a flick through the mags the other night looking for a project "that was in one of them" (and yes I found what I was looking for) I came across this quilt from Stella Whittingham "Take Time Out" which has just a little bit of stitching on it and is then pieced from a Jelly Roll. Well I just happen to have a couple of them lying around and the most perfect one is Garden Party from Blackbird Designs.



As you can see I have pulled the embroidery thread to use so now I best get busy and at least trace some of the designs so I can stitch away tomorrow.
