June Wrap-Up

The last few weeks of June have been a bit of blur for me, but I'm still here and I'm still stitching!

During the month my online group had a traveled themed swap.  These are the gorgeous gifts that I received from Teresa

and here is what I sent to Peg:

I wanted something a little "different" so came up with the idea of a covered money box.  I'm sure Peg was worried about that odd shaped parcel that rattled.

My Stitch-a-long commitment - the Red Home Pincushion - I even needleturned the small bits but did manage to chop off the sides of my tress when stitching it together.

I also made another clear fronted pouch which I didn't get a photo of and is now with the middle child in Cairns this week.  Pop on over to Maree and check out her video of our Stitching Day and you might spot a pic of me holding both the pouches.

I also signed up to join in on this

Pop on over here if you are interested in quilting along with a whole lot of people from everywhere!

I decided to use fabrics from my stash and seemed to have acquired a large number of yellow and pink fat quarters, so I added in a bit of green and this is what I will be making the quilt with - something a bit different for me.  Yesterday I managed to get through the first weekly lesson so here is that piece

Off on a three day retreat tomorrow morning - hopefully I will be super productive!

Friday Night onwards

I had a very quiet night on Friday night watching some tv and working on my Red Home pincushion so I did take part in Friday Night with Friends hosted by Cheryll

But then on Saturday, after the lovely Marilyn had posted a tutorial for one of her zip pouches I started work on it.  I thought the zip was going to be a bit tricky but Marilyn had it all worked out for us and it went together really well.

Sunday Morning I finished the last little bit of sewing down the binding and I now have a completed pouch.

I am sure I will be making quite a few more of these in my future, they can be used for anything you want.

Even though today is a the last day of a long weekend I am off to work - the joys of working in retail.  Its raining and dreary so would make an excellent sewing day instead, but never mind, I have to support my habit somehow.
